NORMAN, Okla. The No. 1 Oklahoma softball team will host an NCAA Super Regional this Saturday and Sunday against DePaul.  The opening game of regional action is set for Saturday at 11 a.m. (CST) at the OU Softball Complex.  Sunday's action will begin at 12 p.m. followed by an "if necessary" game at 2 p.m.

All of the action will be carried live by ESPN (Cox Ch. 29 in OKC).

The Sooners (55-6), a No. 3 national seed, advanced to the Super Regional after defeating UMass (twice) and Colgate in Amherst, Mass.

The Blue Demons (44-11), the No. 14 overall seed, beat Mississippi Valley and Missouri (twice) in Carbondale, Ill., to advance to the Super Regional.

OU and DePaul met earlier this season in the semifinals of the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif., as the Sooners won, 3-2, in eight innings.

OU is making its second trip to a Super Regional since the NCAA began the new format three years ago.  This weekend will also mark the first time Oklahoma has hosted a Super Regional.

The two teams will play a best-of-three format with the winner advancing to the Women's College World Series, May 31-June 6, at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
