NORMAN, Okla. - Watch post-game video following No. 2 OU's 8-0 run-rule win over in-state rival Oklahoma State on Wednesday, April 4 at the OU Softball Complex. The Sooners (39-4, 5-2) jumped out an early 6-0 lead in the first and used solo home runs by Savannah Long and Jamie Fox to secure the run rule.
Long led the offense with two RBIs while Norrelle Dickson and Fox each produced two hits a piece for the Sooner offense that scored eight runs on six hits. Fox's walk-off home run in the bottom of the fifth ended the game in a run rule.
Next, Oklahoma will close out its two-week home stand with a doubleheader against Iowa State on Friday. The series was originally scheduled for the weekend, but forecasted weather in Norman moved the series to a 3 p.m. start on Friday with the second game of the twin bill set to begin at approximately 5 p.m.
