Gasso Adds Haley Anderson to Class

NORMAN, Okla. Head coach Patty Gasso announced the addition of Haley Anderson to her 2008 signing class as the Edmond, Okla., native signed her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday. Anderson brings the total of Gasso's 2008 signing class to six.

“We are thrilled to add such a versatile athlete as Haley to the Oklahoma program,” Gasso said. “She has the ability to play in the outfield and infield and makes great things happen wherever she is. The thing I like most about Haley is that she knows how to win championships. She is the type of player that stands out to me wherever she is on the field. She can ignite a rally and makes things happen while also being a great leader.”

2008 Signing Class Bios

Anderson joins fellow signee Dani Dobbs (Moore, Okla.) as the two lone Oklahoman natives in the class. The four-year starter and 2006 All-State selection led Edmond Santa Fe to the state title game this past year while hitting .515 with nine home runs, nine triples and 18 doubles during her senior campaign. The versatile right-handed athlete can play in the outfield or in the infield and was named the 2006 Big-All City Player of the Year as well as the Edmond Sun Player of the Year.

The Edmond standout was a two-time Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year at Edmond Santa Fe as well as a two-time team MVP. Anderson played travel ball for the Oklahoma Ultimate Gold.

Also joining Anderson in the fall of 2007 will be Dobbs (Moore, Okla.), Krystle Huey (Garland, Texas), Chana'e Jones (San Jose, Calif.), Katelyn Rouppet (Stockton, Calif.) and Wendy Trott (Fountain Valley, Calif.), all of whom signed during the early signing period in early November.

Gasso loses six seniors from the 2007 squad that is currently ranked No. 2 in the country and owns a 41-4 overall record, including a 7-2 mark in Big 12 play. The Sooners hit the road Wednesday for a meeting against North Texas at 6 p.m. in Denton, Texas.
