TULSA, Okla. Jacobi Mitchell swept the 100- and 200-meter dashes at the Hurricane Invitational Saturday afternoon, running times fast enough to qualify for the NCAA Regional.

Mitchell had to outduel teammates in both races, claiming the 100 title over Orlando Slider (10.56) and 200 over Marcus Pugh (21.13) at the University of Oklahoma track and field team's outdoor season opener.

Mitchell's runs of 10.50 and 20.95 in the 100 and 200, respectively, were quicker than the NCAA Regional qualifying standard.  Pugh's mark in the 200 was also faster as the Sooners added five total entries for the postseason in its first weekend of competition.
