NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma's perfect streak to begin the season -- 19 games and counting -- has the Sooners moving up to No. 6 in the latest NFCA poll.
OU secured a 4-1 home victory against North Texas on Wednesday when D.J. Mathis retired the final two batters to seal the win.
Watch video from head coach Patty Gasso and junior Savannah Long as they discuss the game, the win streak and the team's mindset heading into the weekend. OU plays nine of its next 10 games at home.
The Sooners host Wichita State and Temple in the OU Residence Inn Invitational this weekend followed by a mid-week trip up the turnpike to Tulsa. Next weekend, Oklahoma entertains Evansville, Centenary and UMKC at the OU Softball Complex in the OU/Worth Invitational.
