OU Hosts J.D. Martin Invitational

***Friday Schedule Change:  The women's pentathlon will start at 1 p.m. and the men's heptathlon will begin at 2 p.m.  The men's pentathlon has been cancelled.

NORMAN, Okla. The University of Oklahoma hosts the Seventh Annual J.D. Martin Invitational Track & Field Meet this weekend at the Mosier Indoor Center.

Men's and women's combined events begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, and the remainder of the track and field events will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3.

The field includes student-athletes from several area colleges and universities including Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Dallas Baptist, Eastern Oklahoma State, Langston, Louisiana-Monroe, North Texas, Oklahoma Christian, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, St. Gregory's, Southern Nazarene, Tulsa and UT-San Antonio.

Among the Sooners competing are All-Americans Kevin Bookout in the shot put and Chip Heuser and Scott Martin in the pole vault.

OU sprinter Ronnie Pines returns to the scene of his world-class run in the 60-meter dash and Toni Smith aims to reset her school record in the women's triple jump.

Parking
Parking is available in the eastern most portion of the Duck Pond parking lot. Enter from Brooks Street and head to the far east end of the lot (the end closest to the Duck Pond).

A pedestrian gate on the northeast corner of the John Jacobs Track Facility is open to a sidewalk that crosses over to the entryway of the Mosier Indoor Facility.

Because of classes on the Norman campus, only cars belonging to spectators and competitors parked in the east end of the lot will not be ticketed. Access to Brooks Street is possible from north or southbound Jenkins Avenue (the street that runs on the east side of Oklahoma Memorial Stadium).
