NORMAN, Okla. The University of Oklahoma men's and women's track and field teams compete at the adidas Classic Saturday, Jan. 27, at Lincoln, Neb.
All-American pole vaulters Chip Heuser, currently ranked No. 6 in the NCAA, and Scott Martin lead the Sooners at the meet hosted by the University of Nebraska.
Several Division I teams, including the host Nebraska, Colorado State, Drake, Iowa State, Minnesota, Oral Roberts and Wichita State will be in attendance. Oklahoma travels all of its event groups except its distance runners and throwers.

The Sooners look to qualify more student-athletes for the NCAA Championships. Three OU athletes Kevin Bookout (shot put), Shardae Boutte (triple jump) and Heuser (pole vault) provisionally qualified for the NCAAs at the team's season opener last weekend.
Field events at the adidas Classic begin at 1 p.m. Track events begin at 2 p.m. Live results are available online at www.huskers.com.
Home Opener Approaching
The University of Oklahoma hosts the J.D. Martin Invitational Friday, Feb. 2, and Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Moiser Indoor Track Facility on the Norman Campus.
Teams scheduled to compete include Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Louisiana-Monroe, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts and Southern Nazarene.
