NORMAN, Okla. The Oklahoma softball team improved to 4-0 at the Fall Festival this weekend as it claimed two more wins Saturday at the OU Softball Complex.  The Sooners handed Washburn a 6-1 loss and followed it with a 7-0 shutout of Texas Woman's University.

In the first game against Washburn, junior Savannah Long got the Sooners going in the bottom of the third with her solo homer over the right center field wall that gave the Sooners the 1-0 advantage and OU continued to pour it on in the third frame.

Following Long's solo shot, the Sooner loaded the bases and scored another run after Amber Flores was hit by a pitch.  A bases-loaded two RBI single to right field by Samantha Ricketts pushed the lead to 4-0.

Catcher Susan Ogden added to the lead in the third with her RBI single to left field as OU held a 5-0 advantage after three.

Washburn added its only run of the game with a solo home run in the fourth while OU added its final run in the sixth with a sac fly by Stacia Aleman to center field to score pinch runner Jade Prather.

OU pitcher Lauren Eckermann was stellar again in the complete game allowing only four hits and striking out seven batters while walking one and surrendering only one earned run

Against Texas Woman's University, Oklahoma got on the board early in the second game as Samantha Ricketts stepped to the plate with runners at second and third and grounded out to the second baseman, but it also scored Amber Spaulding.  On the ensuing play, a passed ball scored pinch runner Iver McDonald as the Sooners took the 2-0 lead in the top of the first.

The Sooners poured it on in the fourth adding five more runs.  Mariee Mena got the Sooners rolling with her double to left center field to lead off the inning which was followed by  a Lindsey Vandever single as Mena scored on the same play after an error by TWU's left fielder.

Sophomore Jessica Legendre followed that with an RBI double to center field to score Vandever.  Senior Norrelle Dickson continued the rally with an RBI double to left field to score Legendre as the Sooners pushed the lead to 5-0

However, OU wasn't done in the fifth as Dickson scored the sixth run on a passed ball by the TWU catcher and Ricketts' ground out to the third baseman scored OU's seventh and final run of the game.

Junior Jadyn Smith earned the win after pitching the complete game shutout.  Smith struck out five batters while allowing only five hits and one walk.

The Sooners round out Fall Festival action on Sunday with a 1:30 p.m. contest against Pittsburg State at the OU Softball Complex.
