Kaycee Clark Joins Softball Staff

NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma athletics department and head softball coach Patty Gasso announced the hiring of Kaycee Clark as Director of Softball Operations. Clark is no stranger to the Sooner program as she was a member of the 2001 and 2002 Women's College World Series teams.

“Kaycee brings a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and passion to our program,” Gasso said. “She was that way as a player and I'm looking forward to working with her on an everyday basis again.”

Clark will be responsible for the day-to-day operations off the field while serving as a liaison for athletic department staff and the Diamond Club.

“She's going to be an excellent representative for our team and our university,” Gasso said. “She's a winner and knows the expectations of this program.”

Following her sophomore campaign, Clark transferred to the University of Central Florida where she earned Atlantic Sun All-Tournament honors as a junior. As a second baseman at UCF, Clark recorded a .940 fielding percentage for the Golden Knights.

Also excelling academically, Clark received Academic All-Big 12 honors in 2002 at Oklahoma and was a member of the Atlantic Sun All-Academic team as a junior at Central Florida.

After her playing career, the Midwest City, Okla., native worked as a land assistant for Chesapeake Energy from November 2004 until June 2006. Additionally, she served as coach of the Oklahoma Ice, a 14 and under travel squad, while also giving various private hitting and fielding lessons.

“I'm so excited to be a part of the great OU softball program again,” Clark said. “I have always called OU home and it's great to be back.”

Born on Jan. 29, 1982, in Midwest City, Okla., Clark earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts while at the University of Central Florida.

Clark replaces Nickie Engelbrecht, who left the program to pursue other career opportunities.
