Goff Named Big 12 Track Athlete of the Week

DALLAS -- Oklahoma's Yolanda Goff and Colorado's George Pinnock have been named Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, for meets through May 8. Both are recognized for the first time this season.

Goff found victory in both the 100-meter dash and 4x100 relay at the UT-Arlington Open. Her 11.50 sprint in the 100-meter dash was her second best effort of her career just behind a wind-aided 11.49 at the TCU Invitational in April. The junior's time ranks third in the conference leading up to this week's Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Baylor University in Waco, Texas. The Tulsa native also ran the second leg of the top-finishing 4x100 squad that combined for a 45.13 second lap.

Goff is entered in the 100- and 200-meter dashes as well as a leg of the women's 4x100 relay for this week's Big 12 Championships.

Pincock took home three top-place finishes at the Ris-Western/Air Force Twilight Invitational. The junior finished first in the 400-meters with a regional qualifying mark and a personal-best time of 46.88. The Carson City, Nev., native also took first in the 200-meters (21.39) and as the anchor for the 4x100 relay team.
