McDonald was impressive at the plate where she went 4-for-5 with two RBI. The speedy center fielder was also stellar on the base path where she stole three bases. On the fall season, the rookie is a perfect 9-for-9 in stolen bases.
Other offensive contribution came from freshman Amber Flores who recorded three hits, including a double, and two RBI. Sophomore first baseman Samantha Ricketts added two hits with two RBI.
Long's homer over the center field wall was a two RBI shot while senior Stacia Aleman also added two RBI with her double in the fourth frame.
The Oklahoma pitching was solid as it used a three-man rotation in the extended game while allowing no runs.
Earning the start was junior-transfer Lauren Eckermann, who allowed only two hits in 3.2 innings while striking out seven Carl Albert batters.
Jadyn Smith earned the most work in the circle as she pitched a total of 5.2 innings and only allowed two hits, including no runs and no walks against the 20 batters she faced.
Sophomore D.J. Mathis saw action for the first time this fall season after undergoing off-season surgery. In 2.2 innings of work she only surrendered two hits and no runs while striking out one.
