May 31, 2005 | Men's Golf

NORMAN, Okla. OU golfer Anthony Kim was among the all-region selections announced Tuesday, May 31, by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Kim earned a spot on the PING All-Central Region for the second time in as many years. The La Quinta, Calif., native had a stellar sophomore season, claiming back-to-back tournament victories in April, including the Big 12 Championship, and added the title of Big 12 Golfer of the Year to his impressive resume.

Each of the nine PING All-Region teams are comprised of 15 golfers and any player ranked in the top 75 nationally in either Golfstat or the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. Members of the PING All-Region teams are eligible for PING All-America honors.

In 2004, Kim was also named to the PING All-Freshmen team and became the first-ever freshman to earn All-America status.
