Blanton finished the race in 10.28, beating the second-place finisher by .10 seconds. The Forney, Texas, junior opened the final day of the meet running the second leg of OU's fourth-place 400-meter relay, joining Daniel Bridges, Marcus Pugh and Josh Scott in that effort. He came back one hour after the 100-meter final and finished third in the 200-meter with a 20.94. Both of his individual times also broke the NCAA Regional standard but Blanton has better times on the books this season.
The Sooners posted seven other NCAA Regional qualifying marks today. Kevin Bookout finished seventh in the discus, recording a 173-7 on his third throw in the preliminary round to qualify for the regional for the second time in his career. Yolanda Goff finished fourth in the 100-meter dash and Kerri-Ann Mitchell was fifth. Their times in the final that met the NCAA Regional qualifying standard but both had recorded faster times in Saturday's preliminaries.

The duo opened the day by teaming with Ashley Harris and Larica Urbina to record a season best time in the 400-meter relay, 44.99, and finish fourth in that event. The time is the ninth best in school history.
Freshman Tydree Lewis finished fourth in the triple jump, recording his best jump of the competition, 49-11.75, on his final jump in the preliminaries. Jessica Eldridge, the defending champion in the 800, finished sixth with a season best time of 2:07.70. That time gives her NCAA Regional qualifying marks in the 800, 1500 and 5000 this season.
OU added 16 All-Big 12 honorees during the final day of action in the meet.
Texas Tech won the men's championship, becoming only the second team besides Nebraska and Texas to win the men's title. OU finished 10th with 41 points. On the women's side, Nebraska won the women's title, breaking the two-year string put together by Texas. OU finished 12th with 21.33 points.
OU will host the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships May 27-28 at the John Jacobs Track. The Sooners have qualified men for nine individual events and one relay while the OU women have qualified individuals for eight events (one with two qualifiers) and one relay.
