NORMAN, Okla -- The Oklahoma softball team begins the fall season with its annual Fall Festival this weekend. The Sooners will play five games beginning with a doubleheader on Friday. OU will play Neosho County at 4:45 p.m. and Southwestern Oklahoma at 7 p.m. OU will play another doubleheader at the same times on Saturday and will play a single game at 1:15 on Sunday.
The Sooners return eight starters from the 2004 squad which made its fifth consecutive Women's College World Series. Anxious fans will also get their first look at the five true-freshmen on the squad. Highlighting the group are prep standout pitcher Stacy Braddock (Garland, Texas) and all-around talent Tayl'r Hollis (Lafayette, La.).
Also back in the fold for OU is an impressive class of seniors, which will be led by All-Americans Christina Enea, Kami Keiter and Heather Scaglione.
An Important Note For Diamond Club Members:
Game times for the Fall Festival have changed from what was originally announced to OU Softball Diamond Club Members. The Sooners will be playing at 4:45pm and 7:00pm on Friday and Saturday night and at 1:15pm on Sunday. Due to the time changes, the Diamond Club annual meeting will take place at 2:30pm on Saturday, September 25th inside the OU Softball Clubhouse. All Diamond Club members are invited to attend.
There is a $5.00 fee which includes entrance into the tournament as well as a lunch. Please call Shelley Harmon at 325-8361 to RSVP.
