April 08, 2004 | Softball
STILLWATER, Okla. The first game of 2004 Bedlam softball series was decided in the fourth at-bat of the game, when Sooner first baseman Christina Enea laced a two-run home run to give Oklahoma the decisive 2-1 advantage.
Oklahoma State threatened against OU starter Kami Keiter but couldn't push across an earned run as the All-American scattered six Cowgirl hits. The Sooners improved to 29-14-1 on the season and stayed alive in the Big 12 race (3-4). The Cowgirls fell to 20-21 (0-5 in Big 12) and dropped under .500 for the first time since 1999.
Box Score
Junior first baseman Christina Enea has always loved playing against Oklahoma State. In the first inning she showed her affection with a two-run opposite-field home run. The blast was her second of the season and first in 41 games, dating back to the Sooners second game of the year against Southeastern Louisiana (Feb. 6).

Enea's shot off of OSU starter Jessica Hoppock was the 26th allowed by the Pokes' ace this season. OU threatened with two runners in scoring position in both the fourth and fifth innings but, beyond that, Hoppock was in control despite taking the loss and falling to 16-14 on the season.
OU starter Kami Keiter (7-7) had a shutout going into the seventh inning when she tossed a wild pitch to allow the only run to score. Keiter struck out a season-high nine batters and allowed just two base on balls.
