At UTA, freshman Jessica Eldridge, who has had a phenomenal first season, won the 3000 with a 10:07.09. She finished six seconds ahead of Sooner teammate Catherine Odell, who was second with a 10:13.45.
Cory Crosby won the triple jump and Leslie Dunlap won the women's pole vault with a pair of regional qualifying marks at UTEP. Crosby jumped 49-6.50 while Dunlap cleared 12-7.50. DaBryan Blanton was OU's other winner on Saturday in the El Paso meet, taking the men's 400 with a 47.48.
Crosby's mark in the triple jump ranks as the sixth best in school history and is a personal best for the senior by nearly two feet.
OU's other regional qualifiers today included Jon McMillian (7-0.50) in the high jump; Austin Landreth (17-4.50) and Scott Martin (16-4.75) in the pole vault; and Laverne Jones in the 400 (53.39).
McMillian's mark is the eighth best in school history while Jones is the fifth best in school history.
Up next on the Sooner schedule is the Texas Relays for those OU athletes who are invited to compete.
