Weekend A Wash For Softball

The No. 4 Oklahoma softball team will travel home Sunday morning without having played a game in the Sunshine State Tournament, which has been completely cancelled due to constant rain in Tallahassee (Fla.). OU was scheduled to play five games over the weekend, but all were scratched due to weather and will not be rescheduled.
"It's unfortunate that we traveled all the way to Florida and never were able to play," said OU head coach Patty Gasso. "The team is dissapointed but it is just too wet to play tomorrow. We can't risk injury on a slick playing surface. We'll try to pick up a few more midweek games during the season to make up for these cancellations."
The Sooners are scheduled to play a doubleheader against North Texas, Wednesday with the first game beginning at 3 p.m., at the OU Softball Complex. Admission to OU softball games is $5 for adults and $2 for children.
