October 13, 2004 | Softball

NORMAN, Okla. -- The Oklahoma softball team concluded its fall home schedule with a doubleheader sweep of Northern Oklahoma College.  Two Sooner hurlers combined for a no hitter in 1-0 opening win.  OU brought the lumber in the second game and cruised to a 13-5 win to complete the sweep.  OU wrapped up the home portion of the fall season with an 8-0 record.

Senior Kami Keiter and junior Nicole Denes combined to hold the Mavericks without a hit in the first game.  Keiter got the start and threw three perfect innings.  She struck out three batters and didn't allow a ball out of the infield.   Denes gave up a pair of walks to the first two batters she faced before sending the final nine batters down in order.

The Sooners posted their lone run in the first inning on three singles and a fielder's choice by senior Heather Scaglione.

In the second game the Sooners bats woke up and posted five runs in the first three innings.  Senior Christina Enea began the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the first inning.
