RENO, Nev. Freshman Scott Martin opened his Sooner track and field career by clearing 16-1 to finish eighth in the College Men 2 division at the National Pole Vault Summit in action over the weekend. The meet was held in Reno, Nev., and featured 62 divisions, ranging from elite vaulters to beginners.

Junior Austin Landreth finished 14th at the meet, clearing 15-9 while competing in the College Men 1 division of the meet.

Senior Leslie Dunlap failed to clear a height while competing in the College Women I division.

Former Sooner, Mike Westlund, finished fifth in the Open Men I division, clearing 17-8.5.

OU returns home to host the Oklahoma Track Classic on Saturday at the Mosier Indoor Facility.
