Evans, Gulla & Keiter Earn First-Team All-Big 12 Honors

NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma senior centerfielder Erin Evans, senior third baseman Leah Gulla and sophomore pitcher Kami Keiter were named first-team All-Big 12 in a vote by the league coaches the conference office announced on the opening day of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Softball Tournament at ASA Hall of Stadium in Oklahoma City Thursday afternoon.

Erin Evans (Lawton, Okla.) was named first-team All-Big 12 for the third time in her career with Leah Gulla (Huntington Beach, Calif.) earning her first-team honors for the second time. Kami Keiter (Arvada, Colo.) moved up to the first team after earning second team honors last season.

Freshman rightfielder Kristin Vesely (Phoenix, Ariz.) and sophomore catcher Heather Scaglione (San Diego, Calif.) were named second-team All-Big 12.

Erin Evans was also named to the first-team Academic All-Big 12 team for the fourth consecutive year. Evans earned her first award in 2000 as a redshirt freshman. Senior shortstop Kelli Braitsch (Broken Arrow, Okla.) joined Evans on the first team list. Senior second baseman Tiffany Weight (Springville, Utah) earned second team honors.

No. 4 Oklahoma (38-10, 12-6 Big 12) opens play in the Big 12 Tournament at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City on Friday, May 2, at 11 a.m. against Texas A&M.
