Sooner Relay Finishes Fourth At Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas - The quartet of Kim Thomas, Nicola Maye, Alaina Dearman and Aisha Stringer posted the fifth fastest time in school history to finish fourth in the 3200-meter relay with an 8:53.79 in action Thursday at the 76th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.

Stringer anchored the relay with an 800 time of 2:09.6 as the Sooners just missed pulling into third place.

In other action for OU on Thursday, senior Tiffany Davis finished 29th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 63.49, a season best by nearly three seconds.

Joe McNair and Jimmy Buchanan ran in the men's 5,000-meter run Thursday night, finishing seventh and 15th overall. McNair posted a 14:44.20. a career best at that distance by nearly 13 seconds. Buchanan finished the race in 15:08.84.

The Sooners will continue competition in the relays throughout the weekend before returning to Norman to host the 34th annual John Jacobs Invitational next Saturday. That will be the only home meet of the 2003 outdoor season for OU.
