NORMAN, Okla. The University of Oklahoma's soccer team faced another tough test against Missouri on Sunday in Columbia, Mo., and escaped with a 2-1 overtime victory.

Midfielder Savannah Scott added to her impressive freshman campaign with a pair of scores including the game-winner in overtime.  The game marked the fifth overtime game this season for the Sooners.  Friday's contest against ISU also was extended into extra sessions and OU tied after two overtime periods.  Sunday's victory keeps OU's record undefeated when in extended play, 3-0-2.

In the first half, Missouri led the shot count, 7-6, in 45 minutes of scoreless action.

In the second period, sophomore midfielder Lauren MacIver assisted on Scott's first goal, her team leading fifth assist this season, in the 83rd minute.  The OU equalizing goal was scored off a header by Scott, after Missouri put themselves on top, 1-0 in the 54th minute.

Then Scott helped OU put the Tigers away with the game-winner, her fourth of the season and second golden goal of the year.  The freshman is now tied for the team lead in goals, along with MacIver and Logan Womack.

The Tigers outshot the Sooners in the second half as well, 9-3, but the difference in the game was OU's one shot in overtime, as Missouri did not manage a shot in the extra session.  OU goalie Catherine Wade managed three saves, all in the second half, in the contest and improves to 7-3-2 this season.

'I am really thrilled with this win,' commented Oklahoma head coach Randy Evans.  'This young team continues to show a lot of character and we were able to will our way to this victory today.  It has not been easy on the road this weekend with some tough field conditions limiting us to the style of play we are use to.  But we came out today and beat a good Missouri team (who beat No. 17 California on Friday) that can create a lot of problems for opposing teams with their solid offensive play.'

The Sooners' record improves to 7-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 in Big 12 play while the Tigers fall to 6-6-0 (0-3-0).  OU will return to action on Friday, Oct. 10, in Lincoln against Nebraska (No. 14) and then return home on Sunday, Oct. 12 to face Colorado (No. 15).
