  • Michigan freshman pitcher Nicole Motycka allowed her first run in 27.1 innings today and it was the first she gave up this postseason. The Big Ten Freshman of the Year also had a 17-game winning streak snapped.

  • Nebraska senior third baseman Cindy Roethemeyer's RBI single in the top of fifth marked her first run batted in since April 24 vs. Kansas (a span of 12 games).

  • Michigan was held to a season-low one hit. The hit, by junior Melinda Moulden, was her first in WCWS play.

  • The Wolverines lost back-to-back games for the first time since Feb. 22 and Feb. 23, a span of 51 contests.

  • Michigan finished the season with a winning percentage of .819 (50-11), second-best in school history. The Wolverines posted a .889 percentage in 1998 (56-7).

  • The Huskers hit the 50-win mark for the third straight season (the only three years Nebraska has accomplished the feat). NU is now 50-13.

  • Nebraska tied its season record for errors in a game with four (March 8 vs. Minnesota, a 4-0 victory).

  • Nebraska senior Leigh Ann Walker and sophomore Peaches James have combined on seven shutouts this year and three in this year's NCAA postseason. Walker's career winning percentage of .766 (82-25) is now second best all-time in program history (Mori Emmons compiled a .816 career winning percentage from 1982-85). In two career meetings with Michigan, Walker has allowed no runs and one hit in 11.2 innings (both wins).
