Texas Head Coach Connie Clark
On the game:
"I think that we're right where we want to be. It's good to be in the winner's bracket and facing Oklahoma tomorrow. I think we used these first two games as hopefully a good tune-up. I think we got a little sharper as we headed into today. We came ready to play and we're definitely moving in the right direction."
On facing Oklahoma tomorrow:
"We kind of felt that we would probably have to go through them or Texas A&M to get this thing done. Obviously there are quality teams here but we just knew that we were going to face them at some point. I think that it will be a great match-up because we've seen each other several times."
Texas Pitcher Cat Osterman
On having an early lead and her pitching tonight:
"When you have a two-run lead, you're definitely more comfortable and relaxed. It's not necessarily that you can slack off or anything. It was good that we got the lead because I wasn't exactly happy with my pitching early in the game. I think I got away with some pitches that I wouldn't get away with against someone like an Oklahoma."
Texas Catcher Wynter Turner
On Texas' mindset with a two-run lead:
"I think scoring runs early really helps. Our defense and our pitching is always going to be there but I think it's important to score early runs. And I do think that we feel comfortable that once we score we can hold a team."
Arkansas Head Coach Carie Dever-Boaz
On the game:
"Obviously I felt like it was a rough start for us in the beginning of the game. From that first inning I felt like we got beat in the infield and that hurt and set a tone for us. I'm extremely proud of these young ladies. Stephanie Hunter broke up the no-hitter and that was huge. They fought to the very end and we never gave up and scored two. We weren't shut out the whole time we were here and it feels good. I think the girls have a lot to be proud of."
Arkansas Rightfielder Stephanie Hunter
On breaking up Cat Osterman's perfect game:
"You have to give the girl credit, she has had a wonderful year. You can't go up there with the attitude that she's Cat Osterman, just go up there like she's any other pitcher. You have to take it one pitch at a time and that's what we tried to do tonight."
