Texas A&M Head Coach Jo Evans
On the game:
"I was really pleased with how our kids came out and swung the bat. As we came into the game we said we were going to be aggressive at the plate and make things happen for us. Lindsey Wilhelmson coming up and getting a home run was big for us."
On Arkansas:
"Arkansas really swung the bat well. They were very aggressive and came out attacking. They hit some pitches that were clearly out of the zone and hit them hard. I was impressed with what they did at the plate and made things happen for themselves."
Texas A&M Pitcher Lindsay Wilhelmson
On her home run:
"Lately I've just been seeing the ball better. Cheryl (Fowler) was on second and gave me an outside signal so I was sitting on the outside pitch and it was there."
Texas A&M Catcher Selena Collins
On Arkansas' hitters:
"They were just being really aggressive at the plate. Jessica was on target, she threw some rise balls and they chopped at them and ended up with base hits. You can't do anything about that. All you ask for is for the pitchers to hit their spots."
Arkansas Head Coach Carie Dever-Boaz
On the game:
"I'm very proud of our ladies. I thought we fought a very good battle. Obviously the scoreboard doesn't show that result. We out-hit them, played perfect defense compared to their two errors. I just felt that we didn't catch a break. On fly balls that they dropped, we couldn't advance runners. They had one big hit and it was a home run which scored three runs. I was excited about how our offense came alive and I was mostly impressed with our girls' heart and intensity."
On if playing Texas A&M once before helped Arkansas' hitting:
"I think that any time you've already played a team it helps because there is some familiarity. But I think it probably goes both ways. Frankly, I don't care who you have played. Once you get to the big show, it doesn't matter who you have played or how many times. The ball can fall either way."
Arkansas Second Baseman Julie Young
On the difficulty of playing from behind the whole game:
"Our team has been through some hard times this season and I think that the most motivating thing is I love playing with these girls. The more games we win, the more we get to play together. I think that's enough inspiration to play from behind. We just have to keep fighting and hopefully things will fall the right way for us."
Arkansas Pitcher Rachel Talley
On playing through her shoulder problems:
"I don't have many games left so I'm just going to go with what I have and we'll see what comes of it."
