Oklahoma Head Coach Patty Gasso
On advancing to College World Series:
"We are so thrilled to be back. I couldn't be more excited for a team that has struggled throughout this whole year. I believe you have to suffer to reach glory and everyone on this team has struggled at one point during this year."
On pitcher Jennifer Stewart:
"To see Jennifer on the mound doing her best after people were questioning her is a great thing to see. She is here, she's alive and well and ready to lead us to a national title. She has a great will to win and will make our team a very tough competitor next week at the World Series."
Oklahoma Catcher Heather Scaglione
On Jennifer Stewart's performance:
"She did everything she could have done this weekend. There was nothing a batter could do against her. This was the best performance I've seen out of her all year."
Oklahoma Pitcher Jennifer Stewart
On her performance:
"This is when I turn it on every year. I decided I wasn't going to be denied my last time to play at home and I wanted to leave this field as a winner."
Oklahoma Leftfielder Christy Ring
On her .733 hitting performance this weekend:
"I came in wanting to go after the ball because it was my last time to be playing on my home field. The ball looked huge and I was just feeling it this weekend."
Texas A&M Head Coach Jo Evans
On the game:
"Congratulations to OU, they came out and played a great game. They really gave us fits this whole tournament. They hit the ball hard and really challenged our pitchers. We got ourselves in a bit of a hole in that first inning -- it's tough when you get down three runs. We had our opportunities early and certainly didn't feel like we were out of it by any means early on with the score three to one. The thing OU does really well is they take advantage of your mistakes. They took advantage of our walks and errors and turned those into runs. "
On Oklahoma pitcher Jennifer Stewart:
"She just finds a way to win. We get our hits off her, but she scatters hits and she just doesn't' give you that opportunity to string a bunch of hits together."
Texas A&M First Baseman Kelly Ferguson
On OU's Jennifer Stewart:
"Having seen her for the third year now, the off-speed, the knuckle ball keeps you off balance and keeps you guessing. She can throw it any time in the count for a strike. I think that's what makes her a dominating pitcher. She doesn't throw hard and she won't throw it by you. But she can keep it on that outside corner or throw you the knuckle ball on a full count and you'll never know it's coming."
