Army Head Coach Jim Flowers
On the game:
"This was a great victory not only for Army and the nation but also for the Patriot League and all of those folks back east. We beat a west team and it's our first victory. We came out here knowing that we had a chance to win games and we kept that in mind and were able to do it. We're so happy with the way we won. We hung in there with the ladies. These gals don't quit."
On facing Arkansas on Friday:
"They're going to come at us and we're going to come at them and the loser goes home. We're taking it one game at a time."
Army Outfielder Nikki Robbins
On her game-winning hit:
"I've been struggling with the bat all day so I guess it just finally went through."
On Arkansas:
"We take it one game at a time but we're excited to be here and we'll come at them with everything we've got."
Utah Head Coach Mona Stevens
On the game:
"One of the best things we do as a team is hit the ball and we certainly haven't shown it this whole tournament. It's so frustrating because we have so much power as a team. Both pitchers had us completely fooled today. I'll give it to Army, they sure are scrappy and they just stick with it and never say die. You could just feel their spirits jump up when they had a runner in scoring position. The first time they had a runner in scoring position they capitalized on it and we had a lot of chances and didn't. We just weren't here offensively."
