Texas Head Coach Connie Clark
On the win:
"I am so thrilled that we got the win tonight, because the girls really came to play. I think what stands out the most was the fact that we kept focused all game, even though we put runs up early on the board. I especially liked our base running, and how we were so assertive and aggressive. The most exciting thing had to be that everybody got to play, and it was a real team contribution."

Iowa State Head Coach Ruth Crowe
On what her team will take away from the game:
"I think that the biggest thing that we said was our tournament starts tomorrow. The most important game that we had today obviously was our first game. I didn't really care what we did in that second game. Right now we are in the thick of things and that is where we want to be. We can't lose from this point on, but we are competing with teams that we think that we can compete with.

"Cat Osterman threw a great game out here but we hit her harder this time then what we did previously. Our pitchers didn't do a hot job starting off with walks. We can't walk three batters out of the first nine and expect to be in this tournament. The most important thing to us is tomorrow."

Game Recap
Texas' freshman tandem of Cat Osterman (4 innings) and Amy Bradford (1 inning) combined for the one-hit shut out of Iowa State Thursday evening. Osterman had a perfect game through four innings, striking out six of the 13 batters faced before Iowa State's Lindsey Herrin smacked a double in the fourth inning to break up the no-hitter. UT's Erin Mahoney extended her current hitting streak to 10 games by going 2-for-3 with a run scored while Wynter Turner belted a triple that plated three runs. Texas will face the winner of No. 4 seed Baylor vs. No. 5 seed Texas A&M game at 5 p.m. Friday. Iowa State will face No. 2 seed Oklahoma Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Texas is now 45-10 overall while ISU dropped to 19-24 overall.
