Texas A&M's Kelly Ferguson drove in Lisa Klam with a single in the top of the first inning and the fifth-seeded Aggies made it hold up against fourth-seeded Baylor to knock the Bears out of the Big 12 Softball Tournament Saturday afternoon.

Pitcher Lindsey Wilhemson limited BU to three hits and one walk in 6.1 innings of work to pick up her 12th win of the year while Jessica Slataper struck out the final two Bears to earn her third save of the season. It was A&M's second win against Baylor in the tournament as the Aggies won 5-1 on Thursday.

BU's Cristin Vitek started and gave up four hits and a walk in 2.2 innings to get the loss. Joni Miller tossed one-hit ball over the final 4.1 frames for the Bears, who now stand at 46-18. A&M, now 38-15, will face third-seeded Nebraska today at 5 p.m.

On the game:
"I was really pleased with how aggressive we came out at the plate and put pressure on their defense. I think we came out in the first inning and put them on their heels. Lisa (Klam) can really set the tone in a game. I liked the way we excecuted to move our runners. Kelly Ferguson is someone who can come through in the clutch and it was just great to see her step up and get that big RBI. I didn't think it was going to be the only run of the game."

On figuring out how to beat Baylor:
"When we played Baylor in the first few games this season, we let their speed intimidate us a little bit. We were on our heels a little bit and feeling more pressure than we needed to. And then you get familiar with a team and then you can relax and go `Okay, I know what's going to happen.'"

On the game:
"We had our opportunities early, so did they and they took advantage of them. We should have played better offensively and not allowed one run to beat us. We have a good shot at going to the NCAA Tournament. We are going to have to work hard this next week and prepare to play again."

On the Big 12 Tournament:
"We are not a tournament team yet and that is one of my biggest challenges. We have to get this program ready to win every time we step on the field. I think we have enough depth to come out of the loser's bracket and win a tournament. We have to learn to win these games, but overall this was a step in the right direction. Before this weekend we had never won a Big 12 Tournament game. We have to feed off this positive experience."
