Women's Tennis Falls To. No. 23 Texas A&M

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's tennis team was defeated by No. 23 Texas A&M late Friday night in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament in College Station, Texas. The Sooners fall to 16-8 on the season and have a chance of making the NCAA Tournament. The opening round of the NCAA Tournament will be held May 10-12. The Aggies move to 22-4 on the year and will play the No. 2 seed Texas Longhorns tomorrow at 3 p.m.
OU sophomore Anda Perianu defeated Texas A&M's Jessica Roland (6-3, 6-3) at No. 1 singles, improving to 22-6 on the season. Perianu has now won seven consecutive singles matches dating back to April 4 against Baylor's Katja Kovic. At No. 3 singles, junior Annette Bryntesson picked up the Sooners' only other victory over the Aggies' Martina Nedorostova, 7-5, 6-3.
