Sooners Set to Host ITA Central Regional Championship

October 15, 2025 | Women's Tennis

NORMAN – The Oklahoma women's tennis team is set to host the 2025 ITA Central Regional Championship at the Headington Family Tennis Center, Oct. 16-20.

OU will compete for berths in both singles and doubles at the 2025 NCAA Division I Individual Championships, which are automatically awarded to singles finalists and doubles champions at each of the 13 regional sites. The main draws feature 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams.

Nine Sooners are slated to compete in main draw singles and doubles play: seniors Julia Garcia Ruiz and Oyinlomo Quadre, redshirt junior Roisin Gilheany, junior Chloé Noël, sophomores Gloriana Nahum and Salakthip Ounmuang, and freshmen Laura Brunkel, Mika Buchnik and Edda Mamedova.

Admission to the tournament is free. A tentative day-by-day schedule, as well as draws, can be found here. Live streams of matches on outdoor courts 1-6 and indoor courts 1-6 will be available via PlaySight.

At the 2023 ITA Central Regional, Dana Guzman and Alina Shcherbinina captured the doubles title to become the first Sooner pairing to do so since Carmen and Ivana Corley in 2020. Last season, OU advanced a singles semifinalist and one doubles team to the championship round of the main draw.
