No. 9 Oklahoma Run Rules Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 10-0

NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma freshman catcher Christina Enea hit a grand slam homer in the fourth inning to give the ninth-ranked Sooners a 10-0 advantage over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Friday afternoon at the OU/Worth Invitational. Enea finished with five RBI in the game as the OU offense pounded out 11 hits. Senior leftfielder Christy Ring (2-for-3) tied Oklahoma's all-time mark for runs scored with the 180th run scored of her career. Oklahoma (20-5) improved its tournament record to 3-0 while TAMU-CC (14-19) fell to 1-3 during the Invitational.

The Sooners exploded out of the gates with two runs in the first frame. Junior shortstop Kelli Braitsch (2-for-4) sent the first pitch of the game to right center field and hustled around the bases for a leadoff triple. Ring followed with a single to score Braitsch before being caught in a rundown between first and second base. Junior third baseman Leah Gulla (1-for-3) suceeded Ring and crushed a solo homer to left field to plate the second run of the frame.

OU took advantage of two Islander errors to plate four unearned runs in the third inning and extended its lead to 6-0. Ring and Gulla, courteousy of errors on the TAMU-CC leftfielder, occupied first and second base when junior rightfielder Jennifer Stump (1-for-2) doubled home Ring and sent Gulla to third base. Gulla scored on the next at bat on a sacrifice fly by Enea before junior centerfielder Erin Evans (1-for-3) tripled and scored on a wild pitch.

Sooner starting pitcher Angela Foster (5-1) tied a season high in strikeouts with seven and held the Islanders to only two hits.
