NORMAN, Okla. - Eight regular season Oklahoma softball games have been slated to be aired live on the radio in the Oklahoma City area on KREF-AM 1430 during the 2002 season as announced on Wednesday. The station has also planned to broadcast as many postseason games as possible (subject to change). Brian Brinkley, of Oklahoma City's KFOR Channel 4 (NBC affiliate), will be the voice of Sooner softball this season. All radio broadcasts of the Oklahoma softball games can also be accessed by logging on to the Sooners' official athletic web site at www.soonersports.com and clicking on the audio link.
Highlighting the schedule of games are matchups against traditional rivals Oklahoma State on April 3, and Texas on April 13. The contests against national softball powerhouses Fresno State and Arizona at the A.S.A. Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, on April 16 and 17, respectively, will also be carried live.
