COLUMBUS, Ga. - Down 3-1 entering the bottom of the fifth inning, Oklahoma's Jennifer Stump hit a three-run home run to bring No. 4 OU from behind and narrowly defeat Wisconsin, 4-3, Saturday afternoon in both team's final game of pool play at the NFCA Leadoff Classic. Sooner reliever Angela Foster (4-0) pitched the final six innings of the game for the win. The Sooners and Badgers both completed pool play with a 2-1 record and begin championship play later in the day.

Senior leftfielder Christy Ring (2-for-3) began the scoring for OU in the first inning by leading off their half of the first with a triple. Ring, stranded at third base until two outs later, was singled home by junior third baseman Leah Gulla (1-for-3).

The Badgers responded with three runs in the second inning to take the lead. Wisconsin ran OU starter Jennifer Stewart out of the game by getting their first four batters on base on a walk and three consecutive singles which led to their first run. Foster then relieved Stewart and gave up two more singles to lead to Wisconsin's final two runs in the frame.

Stump helped OU regain the lead in the fifth inning with her three-run shot. Stump's homer scored junior centerfielder Erin Evans (0-for-4), who led off the frame by reaching second base on an error by the Badger shortstop, and freshman catcher Christina Enea (1-for-2) who followed with a double.

After wrapping up the second inning in which she allowed two inherited runners to score, Foster was brilliant the remainder of the contest as she only gave up one hit and two walks the rest of the way.
