Oklahoma Softball Squares Off With Oklahoma City

NORMAN, Okla. - Carrying an undefeated record heading into Tuesday's contest with Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma softball team looks to the Stars to keep its winning streak alive. The two teams will meet for a single game at 4 p.m. at the OU Softball Complex. OU (10-0) will be in search of its 11th win on the season, while the contest will mark the first of the year for OCU.

Oklahoma is coming off of its second tournament sweep after recording five victories in last weekend's OU/Nike Classic. The Sooners are batting .337 and have hit 19 home runs in their first 10 games. Senior leftfielder Christy Ring is batting at a .438 clip and has at least one hit in nine of the games this season.

The OU pitching staff has combined for a 1.57 ERA and posesses four hurlers that have seen action in starting and relief roles. Staff ace Jennifer Stewart has jumped out to a 4-0 start and sports a 1.09 ERA.

Defending NAIA champs Oklahoma City enters the year following a 56-12 record, including a 10-0 conference mark, and returns three NAIA All-America selections.
