NORMAN, Okla. -

"I liked how we came out today and scored early. It helped build a lot of exictement for us in our first home game of the season," commented OU Head Coach Patty Gasso. "We did really well hitting the ball with two outs, had a lot of hard hit balls and had some good battles at the plate."

OU's first four runs of the game came with two out in the inning. In the first inning, junior rightfielder Jennifer Stump (1-for-3) doubled home Braitsch from first base and freshman Christina Enea (0-for-2), who collected two RBI on the night, plated Stump as the Bluejay third baseman committed an error on the play to score the second run of the frame.

In the Sooners' next turn at bat, Scaglione and sophomore first baseman Katie Overton (0-for-0) reached base to begin the inning and were stranded until two outs later when Evans drove them in on a RBI single.

Braitsch doubled in Evans, who led off the fifth inning with her second single of the game, and Enea scored Braitsch on a sacrifice fly an out later to end the Sooners' scoring in the fifth inning.

Senior righthander Jennifer Stewart (3-0) notched her third win of the year after working five innings and striking out five. Freshman Kami Keiter pitched a near-flawless final two innings of relief as she struck out the side in the sixth inning and only surrendered one hit in the seventh in closing out the game for OU.

Oklahoma faces back-to-back competition tomorrow beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the OU Softball Complex. OU takes on Drake in the first game, followed by a game at 5:45 p.m. against No. 21 Louisiana-Lafayette.
