Grand Prairie, Texas - Junior third baseman Leah Gulla blasted two home runs as No. 7 Oklahoma began bracket play of the UTA Tournament with an 8-2 win over Louisiana-Monroe in the Sooners' third game on Saturday. Gulla (2-for-3), who hit a home run in the Sooners' second game of the day, hit a solo shot in the second inning to account for the squad's first run and a two-run homer in the sixth. On the mound, freshman Kami Keiter (1-0) carried a no-hitter through 5.1 innings to capture her first collegiate win. Oklahoma (5-0) entered the game as the No. 1 seed in the tournament after breezing through pool play as the only undefeated team in the classic.

"Leah Gulla did great great today hitting in clutch situations and I thought Jennifer Stump also hit the ball extremely well," commented OU Head Coach Patty Gasso. "I felt like our bats really exploded in this game."

"Kami Keiter had good composure on the mound for her first time out," continued Gasso. "She got a lot of ground balls and the defense got a lot of action and handled it well."

OU expanded on its lead in the third inning when four consecutive singles led to two runs and a double by junior rightfielder Jennifer Stump (2-for-4) scored two more. Stump also delivered a run-scoring double in the seventh inning to record OU's final run.

Keiter only surrendered two hits, one of which was a two-run homer, while striking out five in the complete game victory.

Oklahoma advances to play in a winner's bracket game at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
