NORMAN, Okla. - Sooner softball blanked Seminole State 3-0 and 8-0 in
doubleheader action at the OU Softball Complex on Wednesday evening.
In the first game, senior Leah Gulla (Huntington Beach, Calif.) brought in Kelli
Braitsch (Broken Arrow, Okla.) for the initial score in the first inning. In the
third, sophomore Kami Keiter (Arvada, Colo.) blasted the ball just to the left
of centerfield and brought in Christina Enea (Woodland Hills, Calif.) and Heather
Scaglione (San Diego, Calif.) to put Oklahoma up 3-0.
The Sooners would hold that score through the final inning for the win.
In the second stanza, Oklahoma overpowered Seminole State for the 8-0 win to complete
the sweep.
Kami Keiter got the action going early with a two-run homer in the second inning,
bringing in Leah Gulla to put OU up 2-0. In the third, freshman Kristin Vesely
(Phoenix, Ariz.) scored for the Sooners when Christina Enea grounded out.
OU scored five runs in the fourth inning to ice the game. Christina Enea singled
and brought in sophomore April Valdez (Hacienda Heights, Calif.) and Kristin Vesely
hammered a double to bring in senior Tiffany Weight (Springville, Utah ).
Seminole State walked Christina Enea with the bases loaded to bring in freshman
Lori Shimasaki (Edmond, Okla.) and Heather Scaglione wrapped up the scoring for
the Sooners with a single that allowed Vesely and Braitsch to run home.
