OU Women's Tennis Fares Well in First Day of Play

NORMAN, Okla. - In the first of two days of competition, the University of Oklahoma women's tennis team goes 11-2 in singles and 2-1 in doubles at the TCU Invitational to open its fall schedule. The invitational is an individual scoring event.

Returning letterwinners and juniors Annette Bryntesson and Melissa Mendieta plus newcomers Heather Saluri and Llena Jirnova led the Sooners by winning both of their matches today. In addition, newcomers Bethany Griffin, Anda Perianu and Jessica Braver won one match each.

The Sooners return to action Saturday morning at 9 a.m. for two rounds of doubles play followed by one round of singles action.
