Softball Holds First Annual Golf Tournament

The University of Oklahoma softball Diamond Club is hosting its first annual Diamond Club Golf Tournament, Monday, Aug. 20, at the OU Jimmie Austin Golf Course. The event, which is sponsored by Red Lobster and Yukon Chevrolet, will feature current Oklahoma softball players and coaches who will also be joined by head men's basketball coach Kelvin Sampson. The format for the tournament is a four person scramble with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

The cost is $100 per team member, or $400 per team, and includes lunch and two beverage tickets. Hole sponsorships are also available for $100 each. All proceeds go to benefit the OU softball program.

Prizes will be given to the first, second and third-place teams. The prizes include autographed softballs signed by various OU head coaches including Bob Stoops, Barry Switzer and Sherri Coale, Diamond Club memberships, Oklahoma softball season passes and pro shop gift certificates.
