Nebraska sophomore catcher Amber Burgess hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to defeat Kansas 3-0 in an elimination game of the Big 12 Tournament. The top-seeded Huskers, 49-12, will face second-seeded Oklahoma at 5 p.m.

Kansas had the tying run at the plate in the top of the seventh when Husker pitcher Peaches James relieved starter Leigh Ann Walker and forced Kansas' Megan Urquhart to ground out to end the game. Walker struck out 10 Jayhawks and picked up her second win of the tournament and improved to 21-6 on the season. In forcing the final out, James recorded her second save of the season. Kansas sophomore pitcher Kirsten Milhoan gave up only three hits in six innings of work yet fell to 8-13 on the season.

Kansas left nine runners on base for the game. Besides the threat in the seventh inning, Kansas left the bases loaded in the third. Kansas was elimated from the tournament and dropped to 32-27 on the season.
