OKLAHOMA CITY - Fifth-ranked Oklahoma and third-ranked LSU battled for 13 innings before the Tigers pulled out a 2-1 win and eliminated the Sooners from the Women's College World Series. The game lasted three hours and 31 minutes and ended early Sunday morning.

The game was a pitcher's duel throughout the first 12 innings. OU's Jennifer Stewart (37-4) and LSU's Britni Sneed (36-6) each pitched complete games and combined for 27 strikeouts. Stewart tossed the 12 2/3 innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on eight hits. She didn't walk a single batter and struck out eight. Sneed went the whole 13 innings and also gave up eight hits and just one run with 19 strikeouts.

Tied at 1-1 through 12 innings, LSU took advantage of a Sooner miscue to win the game. With two outs in the bottom of the 13th, pinch hitter Ashli Lewis hit a ball to shortstop Kelli Braitsch, who fielded the ball and then sailed the ball to the right of first base. That allowed Jennifer Schuelke, who reached on a fielder's choice, to advance to third and score the winning run.

The Sooners wasted no time putting their only run on the board. Braitsch went down 1-2 in the count before sailing the fourth pitch over the right field fence in the first inning. It was the second time this year she led off with a homer and it was her eighth of the year.

The Tigers tied it up in the fifth inning when Wiese drove an RBI single to right center that scored Sara Fitzgerald, who was running for Christy Connor. All in one swing, Connor led off the inning with a single up the middle that broke up Jennifer Stewart's perfect game and no-hitter.

Oklahoma had its opportunities, leaving 10 runners on base, nine of those in scoring position. OU loaded the bases in the 11th with only one out, but left all on the bags as Ashli Barrett and Jennifer Stump struck out to end the inning.

Ring was the Sooners' leading producer, getting half of OU's eight hits. The junior went 4-for-4 with a pair of walks. The other hits came from Lisa Carey, Erin Evans and Mandy Fulton, who each recorded singles.

The Sooners, who were making their second consecutive WCWS appearance, ended the season with a 50-9 overall record.
