NORMAN, Okla. - Four Oklahoma pitchers combined to throw perfect games in both contests of a softball doubleheader versus Seminole State Junior College Wednesday afternoon at the OU Softball Complex. Seniors Angela Wedlake (2-0) and Jennifer Stewart tag-teamed on the Sooners 10-0 win (five innings) in game one and freshman Kami Keiter (2-0) and sophomore Adrianne Ratliff paired up for the 8-0 victory in the second game. OU's fall record improves to 6-0 with the wins.

"I thought our pitchers did excellent tonight. Angela Wedlake did a really nice job of setting the tone for us in game one," said Head Coach Patty Gasso. "Everybody came in and did their job. I liked the way our pitchers came in and started the games. Kami Keiter did a good job of that tonight."

Wedlake lasted 4.2 innings in the first game and struck out seven Lady Trojans and allowed only two balls out of the infield before being relieved by Stewart, who recorded the final out in the top of the fifth frame. Senior leftfielder Christy Ring was also perfect at the plate for the Sooners as she went 4-for-4 with three doubles. Ring's doubles were three of the team's eight total extra-base hits in the contest. Senior third baseman Leah Gulla (2-for-3) and freshman catcher Christina Enea (3-for-3) each recorded their first home runs of the fall season.

In game two, Keiter sat down six Seminole State batters on strikeouts while only one ball made it past the infield in 4.1 innings of work. Ratliff struck out four after coming in and pitching the final 2.2 innings of the game. Five Sooners turned in multi-hit performances, led by junior centerfielder Erin Evans' 3-for-4 effort. Gulla (2-for-4) added two more RBIs to her two from game one to finish the doubleheader as OU's leading RBI producing on the night.

"The first game we missed a couple of signals and made some mental errors that we are still working on fixing in practice. The second game was much more smoother, though," continued Gasso. "We didn't get a chance to test our defense because we didn't see any baserunners, but I thought we swung the bats well top to bottom. It seemed like everyone was able to contribute offensively."

OU returns to the field for competition next weekend when it hosts the OU Fall Festival. The event is scheduled to take place Oct. 12-14 at the OU Softball Complex.
