NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma Softball team picked up two wins today in the OU/adidas Classic, beating Kansas, 3-0, and Nicholls State, 16-1. OU, 5-0 in the tournament, allowed just two hits in each game.

The Sooners' contest with Kansas remained scoreless for four full innings before OU broke it open in the bottom of the fifth. Second baseman LaKisha Washington doubled and lead-off hitter Christy Ring walked. Freshman Kelli Braitsch tripled, knocking in two runs to start the scoring. Braitsch came home on a Lisa Carey sacrifice fly for the Sooners' third and final run.

Senior Lana Moran pitched all seven innings for OU, allowing only one hit and striking out three batters. Moran improved to 5-0 on the year.

In its second game, Oklahoma scattered 13 hits off three different Nicholls State pitchers. The Sooners scored in every inning of the run-rule-shortened game. Ring was 3-for-4 at the plate and scored in every inning. Her five runs tied the single-game school record. Junior first baseman Andrea Davis had two hits for OU, a single and a triple, and four RBIs.

Freshman pitcher Kourtney Davis picked up her third win in as many starts this season.

Oklahoma finishes its run in the OU/adidas Classic Sunday as it takes on Creighton at 5:30 p.m. at the OU Softball Complex. Tournament games begin at the complex and at Reaves Park at 10 a.m.
