NORMAN, Okla. - Mandy Fulton, a junior third baseman on the OU softball team, was named Big 12 Player of the Week for her performance at the Wildcat Softball Classic in Tucson, Ariz., over the weekend.

Fulton helped the Sooners to a 4-1 record and runner-up finish by batting .571 with a 1.429 slugging percentage. The Del City, Okla., native belted three home runs, a double and a triple. She also stole a base and scored seven runs.

Fulton becomes the second Sooner to earn accolades from the conference office in as many weeks as sophomore Jennifer Stewart was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week Feb. 15 after leading OU to the Texas-Arlington Isuzu Motors Invitational crown.

Missouri freshman Ingrid Werner was named this week's Big 12 Pitcher of the Week after picking up two wins and posting a 0.50 earned run average in 14 innings for the Tigers.

The 11-1 Sooners open their home schedule Wednesday when they host Arkansas in a doubleheader. Games are scheduled to start at 3 and 5 p.m. at the OU Softball Complex on campus. The Sooners will also host the OU/adidas Invitational this Thursday through Sunday.
