Oklahoma Softball Run Rules Tennesee Tech, Kentucky

NORMAN, Okla. -- - The OU softball team continued its winning ways today at the Wildcat Softball Classic in Arizona as it downed Tennesse Tech, 16-1 and dominated Kentucky, 13-4. The Sooners have tied their best-ever start with 11 straight wins going into tomorrow's showdown at 1 p.m. with No. 4 Arizona.

Freshman Kourtney Davis moved to 2-0 on the year as she allowed Tennessee Tech (0-3) only three hits in the game. OU's stellar offensive output continued with 13 hits by seven different Sooners. Third baseman Mandy Fulton led the charge as she went 3-for-3 at the plate, knocking in six base runners. The junior hit her first two home runs of the year, including a grand slam to end the scoring in fifth inning.

Oklahoma met Kentucky for the second time this season in the evening game. The Sooners recorded the first nine runs of the game, before allowing the Wildcats to get on the scoreboard. Fulton hit another homer third inning and Jamie White hit her first long ball of the season. OU has hit a combined 18 home runs on the season. Senior Lana Moran (2-0) picked up the win in five innings and Davis pitched the sixth for OU.

OU opens at home on Wednesday in a doubleheader with Arkansas. Game times have been changed to 3 and 5 p.m.
