NORMAN, Okla. - The 14th-ranked University of Oklahoma women's basketball team will host its final exhibition game on Friday, Nov. 10, against Australian Institute of Sport. Tip time is set for 7 p.m. at the Lloyd Noble Center.
In OU's first exhibition game earlier this week, Oklahoma defeated Oklahoma Christian, 94-61, in front of 2,106 fans at the Lloyd Noble Center. Leading the Sooners was junior point guard Stacey Dales. Dales had a game-high 19 points and five assists. She also had four steals, while shooting 50-percent from the field (7-of-14) and 66.7 percent from the free throw line (4-of-6). Sophomore guard Jadrea Seeley came off the bench to contribute 16 points and pocket four steals. Sophomore Caton Hill, senior Sunny Hardeman and junior LaNeishea Caufield each added 11 points, while all 15 players saw action. In addition, Hill ended the night with a game-high nine rebounds, all defensive.
The Australian Institute of Sport team has played Missouri (L, 82-72), Southwest Missouri State (L, 78-69), Arkansas (L, 94-76), Wichita State (L, 64-60) and Tulsa (W, 71-60).
The Sooners open regular season action as one of four teams competing in the annual Bertha Teague Classic in Tulsa at the Mabee Center located on the Oral Roberts University campus. Oklahoma will face Tulsa on Friday, Nov. 17, at 5 p.m., followed by host ORU on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. Oklahoma State will also be competing in the tournament but will not play Oklahoma.
Following that tournament, Oklahoma will compete in the elite Coaches vs. Cancer Challenge in Madison, Wis., on Nov. 22-24. This tournament features four teams that are ranked among the best programs in the nation. In the first Associated Press poll, Georgia is ranked third, followed by sixth-ranked Notre Dame, No. 14 OU and host Wisconsin, which is ranked 18th.
