Sooner Softball To Host Clinic

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma softball program will host a clinic on Saturday, Oct. 30, at the OU Softball Complex in Norman. Sooner coaching staff and players will provide hitting, pitching and defensive lessons to players 18 and under.

The cost of the clinic is $65.00 if registering prior to Oct. 23 and $70.00 after Oct. 23. For further information or to register, contact the Oklahoma softball office at (405) 325-8347 or (405) 325-8369.

There will be two sessions on Saturday. The first session for ages 8-12 will start at 8 a.m and end at 11 a.m., while the second session for ages 13-18 will begin at 1 p.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. The OU Softball Complex is located on Jenkins Ave. approximately one-half mile south of Lindsey St. In case of inclement weather, the clinic will be held at the Mosier Indoor Facility which is located just east of Memorial Stadium behind the OU tennis courts.

Sooner Head Coach Patty Gasso and assistants Melyssa Panzer and Tim Walton were named the 1999 Midwest Regional Coaching Staff of the Year. Also, Gasso was named the 1999 Big 12 Coach of the Year. Her Oklahoma team last year was crowned the 1999 Big 12 regular-season champion, the second conference title for OU in the last three years (1996).
