OU and Georgia are meeting for just the second time. The Sooners are making their first trip to Athens. The only other meeting resulted in a 2-0 win for Georgia at John Crain Field in OU's inaugural season in the SEC.
Oklahoma cracked the Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization for Coaches Top 25 rankings at No. 24 this past Tuesday, its first time in that poll this season. OU is also ranked No. 21 in the latest Top Drawer Soccer poll.Ā
Friday's game is Military and First Responders Appreciation Night with an American flag themed hat as the giveaway. A large contingent of the Pride of Oklahoma band will be there and featured events also include a touch-a-truck on site and postgame fireworks.
Narissa Fults came through with a brace, Elle Canty dished out two assists and Callie Sullivan stopped a penalty kick in Oklahoma's 3-1 win against Missouri Friday, Sept. 11.
OU plays its first SEC road game of the season. The Sooners are 3-0-2 on the road this year. OU's two draws have been at Oral Roberts (1-1) and at No. 14/23 BYU (1-1) Sept. 5. OU led, 1-0, in the 84th minute at BYU before the Cougars tied it up.Ā
Georgia is 3-2-3 and 0-0-1 this season. The Bulldogs have played consecutive contests against Top 15 programs. UGA dropped a 2-1 decision to No. 15 Florida State and earned a 1-1 draw against No. 2 Vanderbilt.
Honoka Hamano paces UGA with four goals this season for a team that has scored 16 times and also permitted 16.
The Sooners lead the SEC in points (100), goals (34), and goal differential (28). OU also ranks second in the country in all of those categories only to Purdue. Lexi Dendis ranks second in the SEC in assists (5).
6: Norman natives Elle Canty and Narissa Fults combined for six points in OU's 3-1 win against Missouri. Another Norman native, Callie Sullivan, also saved a PK.
12: Kayla Keefer's 12 goals leads the nation and is only three from tying the Oklahoma single-season goals scored record. The junior scored seven in her sophomore season and OU debut last year.
21: Freshmen Kennedy Kaiser and Kate McCallister have combined for 15 points this season, with 10 coming from Kaiser's five goals and five from two goals and an assist by McCallister.
90: Sophomore back Ally Laccinole has played 90 minutes six times this year.
