No. 1 Sooners Ready for Final SEC Road Trip at No. 9 Georgia

NORMAN – The No. 1 Oklahoma women's gymnastics team travels to No. 9 Georgia for the final meet of the regular season Friday night. The Sooners and Bulldogs will face off in OU's final road SEC meet of the season at 5:45 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.

LOOK BACK AT IT
In front of the fourth highest attendance in program history (9,144), the Sooners put up their highest score of the season in a 198.200-196.900 victory over No. 17 Michigan last Friday night.

OU closed its home slate with a 5-0 record inside the LNC as the Sooners moved to 153-4 all-time under head coach K.J. Kindler. This is the 11th straight season OU has gone undefeated at home, a 91-0 record across 60 meets.

Senior Jordan Bowers won a trio of event titles, including the all-around with a season-high 39.775. Bowers also added event titles on bars and beam with near-perfect 9.975s. The senior shared bars with fellow senior Audrey Davis and beam with junior Faith Torrez. Freshman Lily Pederson took home vault with a 9.95.

BOWERS NAMED SEC GYMNAST OF THE WEEK
After posting a season high 39.775 in the all-around, senior Jordan Bowers was named the SEC Gymnast of the Week.

The Sooners have now claimed 11 weekly honors to lead the league with six different athletes being recognized. This is the third honor for Bowers and first outright award. Bowers's three gymnast of the week awards is tied for the lead in the SEC with teammate Faith Torrez and Florida's Leanne Wong.

Bowers had a senior night to remember, earning a 39.775 in the all-around to claim the all-around title Friday night. The mark was her second over 39.700 this season. Along with her event title in the all-around, the senior also added event titles on bars and beam with near perfect 9.975s on both events. She has now posted eight scores of 9.9 or higher on both events this season.

Bowers also added a 9.95 on floor, her 10th straight mark of 9.9 or better on the event this season and eighth mark of 9.95 or better. Her strong performance placed her at No. 1 on floor in the nation, while also coming in at No. 3 in the all-around. This was the eighth time this season she has recorded at least a 9.9 on three of four events.

ROAD WARRIORS
In the last decade, the Sooners have shown they are a force to be reckoned with away from the friendly confines of Lloyd Noble Center. Since 2015, the Sooners boast a 225-14 record on the road, a 94.1 percent win rate. This includes a 60-6 record at true away competition sites and a 165-8 mark at neutral sites. Over the last three seasons, OU boasts an average road score of 198.010. In 2025, the Sooners are 9-1 in road meets.

SERIES HISTORY
Friday's meet will be the 33rd matchup in program history between the two squads. The Sooners hold a narrow 17-15 lead over the Bulldogs. After losing 15 of the first 16 meetings, the Sooners have now won 16 in a row. The two teams have not met since the 2020 season. This will be OU's first trip to Athens since winning the 2019 NCAA Athens Regional. 

FRESHMAN IMPACT
The freshmen class has made an immediate impact to OU's lineups in 2025. Addison Fatta, Elle Mueller, Lily Pederson and Kelsey Slade have combined for 39.3 percent of competition routines thus far. The group has an almost impeccable hit rate of .980 in 2025, hitting 100 of 102 routines. 

TO 198…AND BEYOND
Oklahoma has totaled 78 scores of 198 or better in program history, including 70 since 2016. Of those 78 scores, only 31 have been earned at home, with 47 coming at road or neutral site competitions. Of the road scores, only 22 have occurred in regional or national competitions, including a 198.3875 at the 2024 NCAA Championship, which tied for the highest NCAA Finals score in history. In 2024, the Sooners earned a program and NCAA best 198.950 at the Big 12 Championships.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
No. 9 Georgia:
The Bulldogs are No. 9 in the nation with an NQS of 197.135 and boast a season-high 197.350. On the events, Georgia is ranked No. 7 on beam, No. 10 on bars, No. 11 on floor and No. 16 on vault. Georgia is led by Lily Smith who is ranked No. 19 on floor and No. 20 on balance beam. Anya Turner boasts a season high 9.975 on beam and captured SEC Specialist of the Week honors after week seven.

LOOKING AHEAD
OU will head to its first SEC Championship on Saturday, March 22. The Sooners are locked in to the evening session and will compete at 7 p.m. CT on the SEC Network. Final seeding announcements will be released on Monday, March 17.
